Lord Thompson Manor on Wedding Guest Etiquette

Lord Thompson Manor on Jun 11th 2010

For every Bride and Groom the Lord Thompson Manor works with, we generally serve fifty to two hundred and fifty or more guests.  It comes as no surprise that we’ve picked up on the “do’s and don’ts” of Wedding guest etiquette, so we’ve put together the following list of guidelines for those who would like a refresher before their loved ones’ Big Day.

Always RSVP within the requested timeline.  If you accept an invitation, you ought to bring a gift or send one in advance—but don’t feel obligated to spend more than you are comfortable with.  The gift ought to be something for both the Bride and Groom.

Observe punctuality.  If you arrive early, remember that Wedding Photographers often take pictures before the guests arrive, so try to contain your curiosity and keep out of pre-arranged photographs.  If you arrive late, try to call as little attention to yourself as possible as you quickly sneak to a seat from the outside aisles.

Take general responsibility for yourself and, if they have been invited, your children.  Unless the Bride and Groom have specifically stated otherwise, Wedding guests generally arrange and pay for their own transportation and accommodations.
